Dafney Shufelt

Dafney is a licensed acupuncturist and earned a Masters Degree of Acupuncture in 2006 from the New England School of Acupuncture, the oldest accredited school of acupuncture in the States. The Masters Degree is a 4 year program, with one year of interning at hospitals and clinics. She is licensed by the Vermont and Massachusetts Board of Medicine, the Committee on Acupuncture, and is a diplomate and nationally board certified in acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She has been in private practice since 2006.

She also has a Masters of Teaching and a BA in French from the University of New Hampshire. She was a public school teacher for nine years, and speaks French and Spanish, and has lived and taught in France and Peru. Dafney has always had an interest in health and well being, and had such a positive experience with acupuncture, that she decided to pursue a new career in the healing arts. She is a dedicated practitioner who is passionate about understanding, treating and guiding patients to better health and well being.

I had insomnia for almost a year and was desperate for a natural way to get a good night’s sleep. Like a lot of people out there, I absolutely hate needles and so I was very skeptical about acupuncture and hesitant to try it out. Dafney did an exceptional job of making me feel comfortable and at ease. You can barely feel the needles and it’s really not painful at all. After each session I felt so relaxed – it’s almost like getting a massage. My sleep improved after only a couple of sessions, and soon after I was falling asleep easily and sleeping through the night… something I hadn’t experienced in over a year. I began going to Dafney a month ago and experienced tremendous relief from daily atypical migraines. For the past 2 years, I have taken daily pain medication and had to use ice packs nightly to help ease the pain.
